When we talk about a great film, we often speak of the director, the cast, the script. But beneath the surface of every cinematic experience lies a world meticulously built by professionals whose names are rarely spotlighted—yet whose work defines the soul, tone, and rhythm of the film.
“The Makers” is a tribute to these invisible architects of cinema.
Cinema is not only a narrative medium—it is a craft-driven art form. The way light falls in a frame, how a cut lands between emotions, how silence creates tension, how the texture of a jacket tells you what year it is—all of these are not accidental. They are intentional. They are designed. And they are essential.
This section recognizes the vital contributions of cinematographers, editors, sound designers, and costume & styling artists—those who shape the cinematic language in physical, tactile, and deeply emotional ways. It is not a “technical category,” but a celebration of creative authorship in its own right.
We accept all short film genres in this section, and each award will be determined based on the excellence of the specific craft—not overall direction. You don’t need to be the filmmaker in the traditional sense; you can be the eye, the ear, the texture, the rhythm, the soul of the film. And if your work elevates the cinematic experience—we will see it, and we will honor it.
This is our invitation to the unseen authors of cinema. You may not stand in the spotlight, but your hands determine where it shines.
