In 1982, he began his screenwriting career with the film "Soul Tied to the Blue Sky." He subsequently wrote the screenplays for the films "The Last Madness" and "The Price of Madness." In 1992, he collaborated with director Chen Kaige as the screenwriter for the film "Farewell My Concubine." This film was primarily based on LU Wei's second version of the script and went on to win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Later, in 1994, he collaborated with director Zhang Yimou and writer Yu Hua as the screenwriter for the film "To Live," which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, among other awards. In 1995, LU Wei ventured into directing with his debut film "Far Away in the Xi Xia," which earned him the Best Directorial Debut award at the 17th China Film Golden Rooster Awards. In 2013, he published his first book, "The Secret of Screenwriting." In 2016, he was nominated for Screenwriter of the Year at the 7th Annual Awards of the China Film Directors' Guild for his work on the film "Wolf Totem." In 1997, his screenplay "Azi of Xingtang – The Story of Qi Baishi" won the second prize at the inaugural Xia Yan Film Literature Script Award. Subsequently, he took on various behind-the-scenes roles in film and television. He served as the artistic director and head screenwriter for the biographical drama "Hu Jingyi," and as a script advisor for the film "Liu Qing." In 2022, he published the book "There Are No Secrets in Screenwriting." On February 25, 2023, he worked as the producer of the film "The Drum Sound," which won the Best Children's Film at the 36th China Film Golden Rooster Awards. He is a prominent actor and director in mainland China, serving as a director of the China Film Association and the vice chairman of the China Film Art Association. In 1956, Xu Huanshan was admitted to the Performance Department of the Beijing Film Academy. In 1980, he began his career as an actor at the Xi'an Film Studio. He participated in 45 film productions and 75 Television Series in his career. In 1987, he directed the film "Blind Stream" and the television series "Casting Years." He also authored over 40 academic papers, including "Exploring Film Acting." That same year, he won the inaugural Film Art Society Award. On November 23, 2019, Xu Huanshan was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles at the 32nd Golden Rooster Awards.

Currently, he serves as a member of the Shaanxi Province Senior Professional (Arts) Evaluation Committee, the China Photographers Association, the China Film Association, the China Film and Television Critics Association, the Shaanxi Provincial Academy of Cultural History, and the Shaanxi Writers Association. In 1981, Bai Yuguo graduated with excellent academic performance and was hired by the Xi'an Film Studio, where he worked in documentary photography and editing. He later held various positions at the studio, including Chief Photographer, Director of Publicity and Promotion, Assistant to the Studio Director, member of the Studio Party Committee, and Deputy Director of the Studio Art Committee. Bai Yuguo's photography includes iconic images like Zhang Yimou and Gong Li by the poolside, as well as Zhang Yimou on a hospital bed.
