> About NOYIFF

Ready to ignite the screen with your vision?

Submissions for the 2025 New Order Youth International Film Festival (NOYIFF) are now open. We invite filmmakers from around the world to submit their short films — bold, thoughtful, and boundary-breaking.

 

> NOYIFF Ceremony Date

The NOYIFF Awards Ceremony is scheduled to be held annually during the New Zealand Asia-Pacific Film Festival/New Order Youth International Film Festival (tentatively set for November 21, 2025) in Auckland, New Zealand. The organizing committee reserves the right to modify the date and location of the event.

 

> Registration Fees

The New Order Youth International Film Festival (NOYIFF) is dedicated to creating a platform for young filmmakers, actively encouraging and supporting young creators and their works to participate in the festival.

  • Submission Fee: NZD $12

  • Requirement: English subtitles

 

> Withdrawal Conditions

After 20th of July, 2025, registered films generally may not be withdrawn or exited from the competition for any reason.

Registration

The New Order Youth International Film Festival (NOYIFF) welcomes film submissions from creators around the world. Please read the following eligibility and technical requirements carefully before submitting your entry.

> Eligibility for Registration

The organising committee of NOYIFF New Order Youth Film Festival invites all individuals and groups interested in film creation to participate in the program. People from all countries and regions around the world are eligible to apply.

 

> Submission Period

Submission Opens: June 1, 2025 – Submissions begin
Submission Closes:
September 7, 2025 – Submissions close
Official Selection Announcement:
September 30, 2025 – Selected films announced
Finalist Announcement:
TBC – Finalist list to be announced
Awards Ceremony:
November 21, 2025 – NOYIFF Awards Ceremony

All participants must complete the online registration and submit all required materials to the organizing committee by the deadline. Late submissions or incomplete/ineligible materials will not be considered for the selection process.

 

> Submission Requirements

  • Originality: All submitted works must be original creations.

  • Accepted Genres: Fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, and other genres are welcome.

  • Film Duration: 1–40 minutes (including opening and closing credits).

  • Production Date Requirement: Only films completed on or after May 30, 2024, will be accepted.

  • Premiere Preference: Premiere films will be given priority consideration.

  • Subtitle Requirement: All films must include English subtitles, regardless of the original language.

  • File Format: Recommended format is MP4 with H.264 encoding; minimum resolution of 1080p.

  • Submission Fee: NZD $12 per film.

  • Eligibility: Open to individuals and creative teams from all countries and regions.

Vertical Format Requirements (Antigravity Section Only)

  • Vertical Format Compliance: Films must be shot or exported in vertical format.Horizontal-to-vertical cropped versions will not be accepted.

  • Eligible Formats: Live-action, animation, and hybrid formats are all eligible.

  • Creative Direction: Creators are encouraged to explore the unique visual grammar and composition shaped by the social media era.

> Participation & Festival Engagement

  • Screening Authorization:

    By submitting the work, the applicant grants NOYIFF a non-exclusive right to publicly screen the work during the festival and its related events.

  • Right to Adjust Awards and Procedures:

    The organizing committee reserves the right to adjust the names and number of awards, as well as modify the festival procedures based on actual circumstances. Relevant updates will be announced in due course.

  • Copyright and Authorization Requirements:

    Entrants must ensure that all music, sound, video, text, and other materials used in the film are original or properly licensed from the copyright holders. Documentary materials must have the consent and portrait rights of the subjects filmed. If any legal disputes arise due to the above-mentioned issues, all resulting consequences shall be borne solely by the entrant. If a film involves copyright or portrait rights infringement, the organizing committee reserves the right to disqualify it from the competition.

Awarded to a director who demonstrates exceptional creative vision and control over the cinematic language, including pacing, performance direction, visual planning, and emotional tone.

  • 【Vertical Vision Award】

Recognizes works that creatively embrace and reinvent the vertical format through visual language, composition, and mobile-native storytelling.

Synthetic Muse:

  • 【AI Creative Exploration Award】

Honors films that creatively integrate AI technologies into their storytelling or aesthetic structure, treating machines as meaningful collaborators in the artistic process.

The Makers:

  • 【Best Cinematography】

Awarded to cinematographers who elevate the visual tone and storytelling through lighting, framing, movement, and atmosphere.

 

  • 【Best Editing】Best Editing

Celebrates editors who demonstrate mastery in rhythm, structural flow, narrative clarity, and emotional pacing.

 

  • 【Best Sound Design】

Honors excellence in recording, mixing, and sound creation that adds depth, realism, and atmosphere to the cinematic experience.

 

  • 【Best Costume & Styling Design】

Awarded to those who shape character and mood through costume, makeup, and styling, supporting the film's aesthetic and cultural tone.

 

By submitting a film, the participant is deemed to have accepted all the terms outlined in this regulation. For any matters not covered herein, the final interpretation rests with the organizing committee, which reserves the right to amend the rules and will announce any updates in due course.​
