Re:Frame: Bringing Cinema Back to Campus

This week, the NOYIFF team met with AUT to discuss the next step of Re:frame — our campus screening initiative dedicated to bringing bold new cinema, young voices, and meaningful cultural exchange back into shared public spaces.

Re was created from a simple belief: films should not end their journey on submission platforms, in jury rooms, or behind industry doors. They should return to audiences — especially students, emerging creators, educators, and anyone who is curious about the world through cinema.

Through curated screenings, conversations, and opportunities to meet across disciplines, Re aims to create an open space to watch, question, discuss, and imagine together. It is part of NOYIFF’s wider commitment to making cinema more accessible, building connections between young filmmakers and local communities, and giving the next generation of storytellers a place to be seen and heard.

Our conversation with AUT was a warm and encouraging step forward. We are now waiting for confirmation of the Media Room’s availability for September, and hope to bring Re to the AUT community very soon.
